Here are a few stereoviews of Egypt which I have collected over the years.  These images were taken in the 1890’s and were then manufactured into  Stereographic Cards.  (Click on the pictures to enlarge)  

What are Stereographic Cards?  

Stereoscopy, stereoscopic imaging or 3-D (three-dimensional) imaging is any technique capable of recording three-dimensional visual information or creating the illusion of depth in an image. (Credit to Wiki)

Such a shame that people destructed the Sphinx’s beautiful face throughout history. Every time I see a picture of it I wonder alot how it would have looked without all that destruction.

Do you think we should try to fix these things as much as we can so they would look like they did thousands of years ago? or that would waste its originality and mystery? Hmm, I am not sure…
